Privacy statement for our newsletter

Registrar is according to Data Protection Regulation obligated to inform in a clear manner its registered persons. This statement fulfills the information obligation.

2. Registered people

Register contains customers, potential customers and subscribers to our newsletter. 


3. The use of personal data

We hold the register to be able to be in touch with subscribers about our campaigns, news and current changes in the market.

  • Personal data is processed based on the registered customer relationship
  • Personal data are processed based on consent ( a list of contacts from fairs, permission for marketing asked with a form)

Use of personal data processing and register

Personal data is processed only for pre-defined purposes, which are the following: 

  • customer relationship management
  • telling about our services
  • informing about campaigns
  • current changes in the market

Newsletter register contains following personal information:

5. Registered Rights

Registered has the following rights, whose requests for access should be made to the address

The right of inspection

The registered person can check the personal information we have stored. 

Right to rectify information

The registrant may request to correct incorrect or incomplete information about him.

You must send requests for your rights in writing or by email.

  • We may ask you to clarify your request and verify your identity before processing your request.
  • Oyj Ahola Transport Abp will respond to requests within 1 month of the request unless there are special reasons to extend the response time.

Opposition Right

A registered person may object to the processing of personal data if he / she feels that personal data has been processed unlawfully. 

Direct marketing ban

The registered has a right to refuse that his / her data is used for direct marketing purposes.

Removal Right

The data subject has the right to request the deletion of data if data processing is not necessary. We process the removal request, after which we either delete the information or we will give a reasoned reason why the data cannot be deleted. 

It should be noted that the registrar may have statutory or other rights not to remove the requested information. The registrar is required to maintain the accounting records for a time period (10 years) specified in the Finnish Accounting Act (chapter 2, 10 §). Therefore, accounting records cannot be removed before the deadline expires.

Withdrawal of consent

If the processing of personal data relating to a registered person is based solely on consent, and not based in customer relationship or membership, the registered may withdraw consent.

The Registrar may appeal the decision to the Data Protection Ombudsman

The registrar has the right to demand that we limit the processing of the controversial data until the matter is resolved.

Right of appeal

The data subject has the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman if he or she feels that we are in violation of our personal data when processing the applicable data protection legislation.

6. Regular sources of information

The information on our subscribers' newsletter is provided on a regular basis: on our homepage or on a campaign page, either on a landing page form or on social media publications,

  • from the customer himself when the customer relationship is born
  • from the customer himself through the web form


7. Regular disclosure of information

As a rule, information will not be disclosed for marketing purposes outside the Oyj Ahola Transport Abp.

  • Mailchimp

(The program is authorized by the EU with Privacy Shield. Mailchimp servers are outside the EU)

Transferring data outside the EU

Information is normally transmitted outside the EU or the European Economic Area. When data are transferred outside the EU and the EEA, we will ensure an adequate level of protection of personal data, inter alia, by agreeing on the confidentiality and processing of personal data as required by law.


8. Duration of storing personal data

The information will be stored for as long as the registrant wishes to leave the list.

  • Personal data is processed as a rule as long as the registrants are listed
  • A person registered for a newsletter sign up can leave the list through the link in each four e-mail.


9. Personal data handlers

Personal information on the newsletter is handled by the Oyj Ahola Transport Abp Marketing Team. The personal data register is maintained by Juuso Savolainen. Other team members do not have access to the register. 

The registrar and his staff handle personal data. We can also outsource the processing of personal data to a third party, thereby guaranteeing the contractual arrangements that personal data will be processed in accordance with current data protection legislation and otherwise properly.


10. Automated decision making and profiling

We do not use data for automated decision making or profiling.
